About Sandro Paris - Ready-to-wear and accessories collections
Since 1984, in our Parisian studios, SANDRO’s creative teams have been designing ready-to-wear and accessories collections that combine elegance and modernity while expressing a distinctive vision of Parisian style.

Throughout our collections, our priority has always been to create high-quality products and make luxury and style accessible. For several years now, this commitment to quality has gone hand in hand with a consideration of environmental and social issues across our activities, as well as a desire to be transparent with our customers.

We have set ambitious goals, but the road ahead is full of challenges.

Along the way, we wanted to open the doors of our fashion house a little wider and show you the work we have already undertaken.
Our responsible materials - Sandro Paris

OUR MATERIALS

The creation of our clothing and accessories begins with the selection and production of the raw materials they are made from. This is also where, at the beginning of our value chains, the greatest share of our sector’s environmental impact lies.

We select the materials we use with the utmost care. Our aim is to offer our customers premium materials, such as cotton, linen, viscose, silk, wool and cashmere, produced and processed with particular consideration for environmental criteria when selecting them.

Committed to reducing the environmental footprint of the materials used in our creations, we are currently focusing our efforts on the materials most widely used in our collections. We are increasing our use of organic cotton, wool certified to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) or recycled wool, leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries, and recycled polyester. These materials present specific challenges in terms of cost and sourcing. As their availability can be limited, we work closely with our suppliers and strengthen our partnerships to secure our supply.

At Sandro, we are also committed to extending the life of our creations and preserving the beauty of the materials we select. That is why our quality experts provide care advice for each material, helping you look after your pieces every day.

Products meeting more responsible criteria - Sandro Paris

ENVIRONMENTAL CRITERIA FOR SELECTED PRODUCTS

At Sandro, certain products are highlighted to our customers, particularly on labels and online product pages, when they meet one of the following criteria:

  • For textile products, the main material is made up of at least 50% fibres that meet our environmental standards*

  • For leather products, at least 50% of the leather used comes from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG) at Silver or Gold level.

Cotton - Sandro Paris

COTTON

Cotton is the most widely used natural fibre in the textile industry.

Organic cotton
We prioritise organic cotton, which is grown according to standards that regulate the use of synthetic chemicals and prohibit the use of genetically modified seeds.

The GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS (Organic Content Standard) standards make it possible to verify and trace the presence of organic cotton throughout the supply chain.

Recycled cotton
Recycled cotton is obtained from textile materials containing cotton, such as manufacturing offcuts or textiles at the end of their useful life. These materials are collected, sorted and then processed so that the fibres can be reused to manufacture new textiles.

Using recycled cotton makes it possible to reuse existing fibres and reduce the need for new cotton fibres.

2028
Our commitments
85% organic or recycled cotton in our collections by 2028.
Responsible wool - Sandro Paris

WOOL

Wool is a natural fibre with many valuable properties. It is known for its durability, excellent thermal properties and ease of dyeing. Used in our jumpers, suits, cardigans, dresses, coats and selected accessories, it represents both a functional and refined choice at the heart of the Sandro wardrobe.

The main environmental impacts associated with wool production stem from greenhouse gas emissions generated by sheep farming and the effects that certain farming practices can have on soil. Wool production also raises animal welfare concerns.

At Sandro, we prioritise wool that meets the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). This standard sets requirements for animal welfare and land management on farms and enables certified wool to be traced throughout the supply chain.

We also use recycled wool sourced from production offcuts or previously used textiles. This allows existing wool fibres to be reused and reduces the need for new fibres.
2025
Where do we stand?
In 2025, 42% of the wool in our collections was RWS-certified or recycled.
2028
Our commitments
85% of our wool will come from farming practices that are more respectful of animal welfare and the environment, or will be recycled wool.
NATIVA™ Regenerative Wool - Sandro Paris

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH NATIVA™ FOR WOOL FROM REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE

Sandro collaborates with NATIVA™ through the NATIVARegen™ programme, which supports livestock farms in their transition to regenerative agricultural practices.

Implemented notably in Uruguay, this programme addresses several areas: soil health, biodiversity, water management, animal welfare, and support for farmers and local communities. The practices implemented and their results are monitored to measure their impact over time.

The NATIVARegen™ wool used by Sandro also benefits from a traceability system that tracks its journey from the farms of origin through the various stages of the supply chain.

Since the FW25 season, several Sandro styles have incorporated NATIVARegen™ wool sourced from Uruguay. Sandro aims to gradually increase the use of this wool across its collections.
Responsible viscose - Sandro Paris

VISCOSE

An essential material in the textile industry, viscose is a versatile fibre that can be used to create soft, fluid and comfortable fabrics.

Viscose is a man-made fibre obtained from cellulose of plant origin, primarily sourced from wood. Its production involves several stages of cellulose processing, whose environmental impacts may vary depending, in particular, on the origin of the raw material and the production processes used.

At Sandro, we are increasing our use of viscose made from wood cellulose sourced from suppliers that meet forest management requirements.

We also use LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose fibres in some of our designs. These fibres are certified with the EU Ecolabel. According to Lenzing, their production generates at least 50% lower carbon emissions and water consumption than generic viscose fibres, based on Higg MSI data. The wood used to produce them comes from certified or controlled sources.
2025
Our commitments
100% of the viscose used by Sandro comes from sources that meet forest management requirements, and 30% is produced using lower-impact processing methods, such as Ecovero™ viscose.
2028
Our commitments
75% of our viscose will come from lower-impact processing methods, such as Ecovero™.
Responsible leather - Sandro Paris

LEATHER

Leather is a natural material distinguished by its suppleness, shape retention and durability.

These properties make it particularly suitable for creating garments designed to last.

At Sandro, the leather we use comes from hides sourced from the food industry. Using these hides allows us to make use of a by-product of this industry in the manufacture of clothing and accessories.

The main environmental impacts associated with leather are linked to livestock farming and leather processing, particularly water and energy consumption, the use of chemicals, and the management of wastewater and waste.

Sandro is a member of the Leather Working Group (LWG), a multi-stakeholder international organisation working to reduce the environmental impact of leather manufacturing. LWG establishes standards incorporating environmental criteria against which leather tanneries are independently audited and certified.
Certified and recycled leather - Sandro Paris
At Sandro, the leather products we highlight according to our environmental criteria are made exclusively from leather sourced from tanneries certified to the Leather Working Group (LWG) standard, with a Silver or Gold rating.

We also use Synderme for certain accessories in our Saffiano range. This material is made from leather fibres, including fibres from cutting scraps, combined with a binder. This process allows leather offcuts to be reused in the manufacture of a new material.

Some of our pieces are also made from leather tanned using plant-based tannins derived, for example, from bark, wood or leaves.
2025
Where we stand
89% of the leather used in our collections comes from tanneries certified to the Leather Working Group (LWG) standard.
2028
Our commitments
100% of our leather will come from tanneries that have been audited and demonstrate strong environmental performance.
Recycled polyester - Sandro Paris

POLYESTER

At Sandro, material selection is an integral part of the design process. Our designers select textiles based, among other things, on their appearance, comfort and the characteristics required for each piece.

For certain designs, using polyester or other synthetic fibres makes it possible to achieve specific properties. Polyester is used, in particular, to create certain pleated effects and has the advantage of being relatively crease-resistant.

Some of our designs contain recycled polyester certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) or the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), which allow the presence of recycled material and its traceability throughout the supply chain to be verified.
2025
Where we stand
55% of the polyester used in our collections is recycled polyester.
2028
Our commitments
100% recycled polyester by 2028.
Our responsible production - Sandro Paris

OUR PRODUCTION

It is in the heart of Paris, in the design studios and workshops, that the first prototypes of the Sandro collections are created.

Production then extends to a network of 140 partner sites spread across some thirty countries, including Portugal, France, Italy, Turkey, China, Serbia, Bulgaria and Tunisia. The selection of our partners is guided above all by the search for technical expertise, which is sometimes rare, while also relying on social and environmental audits.

The selection of our partners is guided above all by the search for technical expertise, which is sometimes rare, while also relying on social and environmental audits.

Furthermore, another of our daily concerns is to improve our production by precisely aligning our volumes with our actual needs. To achieve this, we have implemented new demand planning tools. They allow us to adjust the quantities manufactured, gain agility in distribution, and thus significantly reduce our residual stock at the end of the season.

Auditing our suppliers - Sandro Paris

AUDITING OUR SUPPLIERS

Sandro implements a social and environmental compliance policy aimed at monitoring production conditions throughout its supply chain. Many of our suppliers and manufacturers are long-standing partners with whom we have built long-term relationships.

Our monitoring system is based in particular on:

• the mandatory signing by our suppliers of a Code of Conduct, which sets out our requirements regarding social standards, environmental responsibility and business ethics;

• when onboarding a new supplier, reviewing available social audits or certifications* and, where these are unavailable, arranging a social audit conducted by an independent third party;

• monitoring identified non-compliances and, where necessary, implementing corrective action plans with the suppliers concerned.

Sandro is also a member of the Initiative for Compliance and Sustainability (ICS), which facilitates information sharing among members, the monitoring of non-compliances and the exchange of best practices.

The audit and certification standards recognised by Sandro are: ICS, amfori BSCI, SMETA, WRAP, WCA and SA8000.
Traceability of our products - Sandro Paris

TRACEABILITY

Gaining a better understanding of our supply chain is one of our priorities, enabling us to obtain more accurate information about the origin of our products and the various stages of their manufacture.

To this end, we have been working with an independent third party since 2022 to trace the journey of our products and collect information at each stage about the certifications held by our suppliers (social audits and safety and environmental certifications). The information collected is shared with customers via QR codes on product labels or online.

Through a QR code on the product label or directly on the product page of our online store, we transparently disclose information about the suppliers involved at each stage of the production chain.

In 2025, 100% of the product references in the Spring/Summer 2025 and Autumn/Winter 2025 collections complied with the traceability requirements set out in France's AGEC law (weaving, dyeing, assembly/finishing stages for textiles; stitching, assembly and finishing stages for footwear).

Our goal is to identify every stage of production by 2030, including the countries where our main raw materials are produced (cotton, viscose, wool, polyester and leather).
